Why Flowerboy is a masterpiece,my boy is at it again

if anyone knows me or read my thoughts on cherry bomb just over two years ago,you know how much i adore and appreciate the wonder that is Tyler the creator, and finally the new album is out, and let me tell you its a damn masterpiece, not that i expected anything less, because this boy has been fucking with me and my emotions such early 2013,and much to my surprise here i am four years later still blown away by just how talented and clever he is,because apparently its impossible for him to make anything bad. Like I said earlier I have loved and admired Tyler for so many years now,and not that I needed reminding of how talented and how much i love what he makes but this album has definitely done this, just like cherry bomb did beforehand, its hard too put into words how this album makes me feel or why it seems so important not to just to me but to a lot of people, purely because I've listened to it six times since it came out last night and I'm still overwhelmed by every song. An essay on why Sofia Coppola is the true og.

Sofia Coppola. The women who brought us Lost In Translation,The Virgin Suicides,Somewhere,The Bling Ring,Marie Antoinette, and now the wonder that is the  beguiled. I've loved literally anything Sofia has ever done (including bling ring and let me tell you its not good) for such a long time its stupid, I couldn't be in more love with her work and the way she sees thing's,if I tried. But I mean its hard not to be given she's from the most talented family maybe ever, given her dad is the one and only Francis ford, and her brother is roman who's worked on pretty much every Wes Anderson film ever, like how can one family be so talented? Its hard to pinpoint why I love Sofia and her work, because its nit just one thing that drew me to her,its a multitude,a bit like my love for frank ocean, there's too many things that I love. The first film I ever saw of her's, thanks to finding her through her ex husband spike Jonze,(it still baffles me that he makes jackass?) As ...

Why Gang Signs& Prayer is so important

I'm aware i'm about a month late to the Gang Signs & Prayer hype, but that's due to the fact I've spent the past month  listening to it on repeat, because who knew a grime album could make you feel at least a hundred different emotions in the space of an hour. I was first aware of  the wonder that is Stormzy about a year and half ago when my Spotify decided to play me WickedSkengMan 4 (yes i am a cheapskate and rely on the wonder that is free Spotify) and from then on i spent at least a week listening to everything of his that was available, which at the time wasn't a lot and there's only so many times, you can listen to the classic that is Shut Up. Although  my love and appreciation for grime isn't all that huge, i understand how important this album is to the grime community, and of course to Stormzy himself, because if i'm honest its kind of hard not to love the person he is and the music he makes. If not having an album that everyone and they m...

A tribute to yet another one of my heroes.

A tribute to the princess that subconsciously taught me literally everything i ever need to know in life. As I write this my hands are frozen and my heart is empty, because thanks to this shit show of a year which i can only describe as something that even satan didn't want, yet another one of my heroes has sadly passed, someone that in my mind was going to live on forever and still be the women that I've adored since i was seven years old.  When my uncle decided that i had to watch all the star wars films in preparation of revenge of the sith being released and that of course is my one and only Carrie Fisher. Carrie Fisher has been someone i adore and someone I've loved for as long as i can remember, someone that always ceases to me amaze me in every way possible, even if it was just her going on a chat show with her dog,she was one of the very few people that i thought would still be here in many years to come, but of course 2016 had to take her as well because that...

Why “Reggie Yates Life And Death In Chicago” is so important.

Image
509. People as of July 2016, have been killed this year alone in the us, 123 if these people were black, 13 percent of Americans belong to this ethnic group. Michael Brown was the first black male shot by police that I was aware of, and his death was just over two years ago. You would think that his death would have created such an impact that this would be the last time we saw or heard of anything like this. But it somehow made it worse, the loss of his life seemed to be the start of something, something I thought I would never have to witness. So why is the black lives matter movement, and programmes about police brutality so important and why is an eighteen year old white girl writing about it? Honestly I’m not to sure myself, but I do know I’m angry. I’m angry that its got to this stage, angry that so many people and life’s have already been lost, angry that people are only just realsing how important this movement is, and to use they power and voice to speak out about it, and...

Mum's Stranded List.

Mum’s Stranded List. I was wondering how many weeks it would take me to run out of ways to begin  these blog posts, turns it took me all of five weeks, brilliant, longer than I thought actually so pat on the back to me well done Libby. On this week’s Stranded list we have the women that birthed me, all of them years ago, the women that still says she’s forty five when she’s really four years older than that (sorry mum I had to expose your actual age at some point you cant keep it up forever) as you can probably guess its my wonderful mother also known to everyone and myself timtam. And no her nickname isn’t due to the wonderful Australian chocolate bar Timtam’s or maybe it is I’m not actually sure where she got the nickname. When I asked her to take part in this, it took me all of six attempts to explain to her what it was before she turned to me, and said “oh okay so your mugging off the BBC”. My mum is not the sort of person to beat around the bush, (ha I didn’t laugh pr...

Mia's Stranded List

Mia’s Stranded list Another week, another stranded list. Can you believe ive stuck to something for a month, that’s a new record Christ. On this weeks Stranded List we have the smallest but also loudest person I know, (excluding my dog), its one of my closest friends Mia. Much like Kim and Kanye we are rather inseparable, you can find us together wandering the streets of London at night whilst Mia takes photos of pretty much anything that she finds aesthically pleasing (which is anything pink or a sunset) Or if you cant find us we wandering around London, you will find us at some festival or other, in some tent where we’ve been for at least four hours, because mia refuses to leave said tent. I met mia oddly on a bus on our way to a introduction day at our old college, she says I caught her eye because I looked cute and I was reading Oscar Wilde (like the pretentious piece of trash I am) and from that day on over two years ago, where we promised to stick together because eve...
