Best coast Review.
California Nights
is the third studio album from two piece band “Best Coast “and its rather
different from what I thought it would be like, after discovering the band late
last year after they appeared on my “suggested for you “on Spotify I instantly
fell in love with their first album “Crazy For You and the music that best
coast made, “this album is different from what I hoped it would be like.
The album kicks
off with a song called “Feeling Ok”which was released as a single a couple of
weeks before this album was released on Monday, there isn’t a lot to say for
this song with the guitar riffs and singing sounding very nineties this song is
pretty good, although I wouldn’t put it as the first song on the album, the
next six songs on the album kind of give off this again nineties vibe, however
the next six songs on this album include some of the best songs on this album
and some of the less alright songs on this album.
Personally for me
the best songs on this album include some of the songs that have been released
before hand as singles. Songs like “Heaven Sent “and “California Nights “are
the reason why I got so excited for the release of this album, songs like “In
My Eyes”, “When Will I change “and “Jealousy ”remind me of why I like best
coast so much, these songs make you instantly feel better even if you aren’t in
a bad mood.
Although this
album does have some down sides to it, the album starts of so well and it
starts to make you think is they even a bad song on this album, unfourtunely
they are some bad songs on this album which to me seem like just little fillers
on the album songs like “Run Through My Head” and “Fading Fast “are not bad
tracks but half way through the song you seem to get a bit bored and wonder
what the next song is going to be like.
Overall you cant
really dismiss this album as a bad album it’s a really good album but some
songs to me don’t really seem to fit in with the album and some songs have a
hint of they sound from their first album and first ep its like you’ve fallen
though a Californian nineties worm hole. This album reminds me of something
that should be used throughout the whole of Clueless but in a really good way.
