Slaves Review.

“Are You Satisfied?” Is the second studio album from Kent based band Slaves and after listening to this album non stop for the past two days, you cant really fault this album at all, there’s not one song on this album that is bad at all. After discovering slaves almost two years ago and “thinking what the fuck is this “Slaves have easily become one of my favorite bands and I feel like this album is going to change a lot of things for them.

The album kicks off with “The Hunter” which was previously released as a single last year there’s not much to say for this song besides the fact it’s a really good song, the next song on the album again was released ahead of this album last month “Cheer Up London”, the third track on this album “Sockets” is a new one and possibly one of the best tracks on the album, sticking with their classic guitar riffs and heavy vocals, Are You Satisfied? Is similar to they first studio album “ Sugar Coated Bitter Truth “but its also really different, with songs like “Are You Satisfied “being only one minute and thirty one seconds long but very different to they usual stuff, this makes it one of the best songs on the album. This album just flows really well, its one of them albums that you get so into that you kind of forget what track you’re listening to and then its finished, and you want to listen to it all over again.

Although all the songs on this album are pretty good there’s three songs that I’m not really sure on “Live Like An Animal”, “Wow!!!!7AM” and “She Wants Me Now “aren’t necessarily bad songs, to me these songs kind of don’t fit with the album but I still find myself singing along to them, although “Live Like An Animal “was released as a single two weeks ahead of the release of this album, I feel like it should have been left as a single rather than being on the album.

The ending song on this album is very different to how you would think slaves would close an album “Sugar Coated Bitter Truth “with its slowed down guitar riffs and less heavy vocals, and lead singer Isaac repeating the lyrics “don’t trust the flies they are government spy’s “for the majority of this song, this song really makes you listen to the vocals rather than waiting for the guitar solo’s and massive drops that slaves always seem to have within they songs. Overall this album is a pretty good you cant really say any of this songs are bad, its just some to me don’t fit really well with the album itself.

Catch Slaves on tour in November or this summer at T In The Park, Truck Festival, Reading And Leeds and loads more.
